Dear Federico Sánchez Alfarache and ACPA Colegio San José SSCC
The Damien Social Development Institute in India is so grateful towards your generous contribution for its mission. The institute is deeply and sincerely thankful for your kindness and generosity. The Damien Social Development Institute is involved in the area of:
1. Health – here we have three dispensaries and we constantly provide medication to all three leprosy colonies. We have two doctors – one male and another female. Apart from three dispensaries, we have Damien Clinic at the residence and many people benefit from here. The doctor comes four days a week.

2. Education:
  • a. Non-Formal Education Centers: in the field of education we have now 12 non-formal education or tuition centers, each centre having minimum of 25 students. One teacher to a centre. There are request for five more centers. These centers are mainly for the poor children who cannot afford to go for paid tuition.
  • b. Hostel for college boys: there are 29 students in the hostel and they come from different walks of life. This hostel is open to everybody regardless of religion, castes, and creed. The priority is for the children coming from leprosy families. There is a cook and a supervisor.
  • c. Sponsorship/Scholarship: the DSDI also offers sponsorship and scholarship to the students who come from poor financial strata of society. DSDI helps them in their education.

3. Rehabilitation – we have Aymer Weaving Center (handloom center) where DSDI produces towels and bandages. This project is towards the empowerment of women from leprosy family. People working there are paid wages as per their work.
4. Human Development

TRADUCCIÓN

Querido Federico Sánchez-Alfarache y ACPA Colegio San José SS.CC
Qué Dios siga haciendo buenas obras a través vuestra!
